About the Festival

Reconnect

Join us as we celebrate reconnecting with 3+ days of health and wellness! We have 35+ classes, presentations, and workshops from which to choose. There will be music and artisanal vendors as well as opportunities for personal sessions of tarot reading, Reiki, vibrational sound healing, and more.

Something for Every Body

Movement practices include everything from Gentle Chair Yoga and Tai Chi to Pilates and Les Mills BodyFlow. 

Calm Your Mind

Learn  the basics  of  Mindfulness Meditation or relax into Yoga Nidra aka the adult nap. 

Enliven Your Senses

Elevate and invigorate. Center and Ground.  Learn about essential oils or relax into a soundbath with crystal or Tibetan bowls.

With the heat of summer begging us indoors, this event will use TWO separate LOCATIONS in order to avoid excessively large indoor gatherings. The locations are only 2 blocks apart  = about a 5 min walk.You may choose to take classes at only one location if that is your preference.

I recently moved to Houston Texas and given birth to my first child, but before those big changes I lived and worked in Southeast Texas and taught regular weekly classes at Exygon Health and Fitness and SSAH FitLab  I also offered a yoga for athletes program with the softball and basketball teams at Lamar State College, Restore  Restore & Recoop,  which is designed for weightlifters to work toward recovery and injury prevention.  I also  taught private lessons, special events and  recurring community events including my  favorites; Brew  Yoga at Neches  Brewing Company and Beach Yoga at Sea  Rim  State  Park. On top of all that, I am the founder of Twisted  Tykes Family Yoga:a yoga and creative movement program that has weekly family and kids classes at the Groves activity building  as well as community events throughout the area. Having worked as a teaching artist in theater and dance for 10 years, when I completed my yoga training, I knew youth yoga was going to hold a special place in my journey. It means so much to me to offer a safe space for all ages to find their way to the mat and do a mindfulness practice. I love being able to use Yoga to create community and connection wherever I am.  I love everything about my work and hope I get to see you in  one or all of my classes in soon!

Several years ago I hurt my back and even though I was going to a yoga class at the gym, I was not practicing at home. The exercises given to me by the chiropractor were simply yoga poses in a more western presentation. As I worked with those exercises, I knew it was time to return to yoga with a purpose, not only to heal myself but to bring the gifts of yoga to others. My focus is a gentle style of yoga incorporating the use of the chair for support and assistance. I create classes for those of us who are older, stiffer, and larger than maybe we like or wish we were.

Having tried other meditation techniques, such as Transcendental Meditation, counting, watching the breath, and just plain trying to still the mind, with little to no success, I decided to try this too. I was amazed at how easy Ascension was. All of the phrases were in English and I had input into each of the Ascension Attitudes (which is what the phrases are called). I saw results quickly as I was calmer and more at peace with myself. In 2014 I completed the training to teach Ascension and have continued to ascend every day since I learned this simple technique.
